Our first Harvard Club of NH Young Alumni event (under 45 y.o.) will be a hike at the beautiful Pawtuckaway State Park which is only 35 minutes from both Concord and Portsmouth. We'll be hiking the Mountain Trail up to the summit of South Mountain which has a spectacular panoramic view from a fire tower.

The hike is an out and back hike that's 4.8 miles total. The majority of the hike is a gradual incline through the woods but the final 0.4 miles gets to be pretty steep up some boulder sections.

Please feel free to bring significant others and family members on the hike! Children were seen hikin the trail so it's presumably relatively child friendly. There's also a popular lake in the park if people feel like taking a dip after the hike.

PARKING: From the park entrance off of Mountain Rd, drive 0.6 miles, past a small pond on your left. Just after the pond, also on your left, will be a trailhead sign pointing to Mountain Trail and Round Pond Trail. Park along the road there and we'll meet near the sign.

COST: Admission to the park is $5 for adults, children $2.

OTHER: Please bring water and snacks for yourself and wear bug repellent and appropriate athletic clothing.
